Why You Should Take Your Pooch on Holiday With You

Have you ever thought about taking your dog on holiday with you, but never quite felt as though it is the right decision? There are plenty of reasons to take your dog away, not only for your benefit but for theirs as well! With plenty of dog friendly accommodation options across the UK – you have no reason not to. Here are some following reasons why we think you should bring your dog on your next trip.

Top 5 reasons

Cuddles – This is an obvious one, and one of the reasons why you love your dog so much. If you bring them with you, you won’t have to spend your trip missing them or wondering what they are up to. Holidays are for relaxing – and dogs are great at keeping you company and showing you unconditional love.

They encourage exercise – Even though you are on holiday, dogs still need walking and exercise – and this is the perfect time to go exploring with them!  Dog walking has many benefits, both for your physical and mental health – and it is great to stay in shape and keep up your walking habits when you are away. As dogs love walking so much, they can help change the way in which you see exercising, making you excited to go out with them!

Bring the family together – If you are anything like me, you see dogs as if they are part of the family. Why would you want to go away and leave someone behind? Going away without them can feel as though someone is missing, you will enjoy your time so much more if they are there.

Meet other dog parents – Going away with your dog is a great opportunity to meet other dog parents, and socialise with other like-minded people. Choosing a caravan holiday makes for a great dog friendly break. Whilst you are there, you will be able to enjoy all the scenic walks that the park has to offer, and you could even book one near the beach to take your dog swimming!

Reduces stress – Arguably the biggest benefit to taking your dog away with you, is the way in which they can help to reduce stress. It is widely known that people who have pets experience less stress than those without. Spending time with your dog can release dopamine, oxytocin and endorphins hormones meaning that you feel happier and more relaxed. This can lead to improved and better-quality sleep, reduced blood pressure and reduced signs of depression as they can support our mental health. This in turn can help reduce pain and improve your immune system, allowing you to live a healthier and happier life.
