Life Lately (Autumn Edition!)

Posted on November 7, 2018August 5, 2019 By Becky

Hello! It feels ages since I wrote a sort of ‘catch up’ post here on the blog. Life lately has been both busy, with plenty of family and work activities and house move stuff, and also fairly mundane in a good way. I love autumn activities and the season in general, I think it’s my favourite time of year, and what with Halloween and bonfire night thrown in the mix, plus a half term trip to Dorset with family, we’ve had some great days.

Here are some snaps of what we’ve been up to lately (essentially my Instagram, ha!)

Halloween costumes 2018! I think they look fantastic, Arlo’s face in this is priceless and Sasha loved her make up being done for the evening. We went to school friends’ for a small party and then went out trick or treating in different groups (we had to split people up, there were so many of us!). I love how so many houses in our area make a big effort and the children get so excited. We had sugar highs for what seemed like days!

A couple of Sundays ago we went to The Horniman Museum in Forest Hill where they had loads of Halloween activities and a treasure hunt. Sadly, this is not us pumpkin picking, our ones came from good old Sainsburys this year!

Last Sunday Freddie’s team won their first league match, Freddie scored his first goal, he also had an assist and was named ‘man of the match’ – he was so proud, was on a high for days! We were so proud of him too as he lives and breathes football at the moment and him and his teammates train so hard. Well deserved all round.

Our little trio of blondies in Dorset

Car journeys with 3 are a bit on the squished-side these days!

That face! That’s a toddler who’s pumpkin-ready if ever I saw one

When you find the perfect pumpkin stall to take a picture in front of, and no one is looking at the camera at the same time, haha!

Saturday night ‘Strictly Snacks’ are fast becoming one of my favourite times of the week, inspired by Charli from the blog ‘Candidly Rhubarb’!

On inset day last Monday I took all 3 kids to The Science Museum and The Natural History museum, as both Freddie and Sasha are really into dinosaurs right now (so random, it’s come from nowhere!). We had such a lovely time, and I gave myself a big mum pat on the back for surviving (and enjoying) the day with a toddler in tow and navigating the tube with 3 kids and a buggy- no mean feat, especially when Victoria tube station has no lift access, nor does South Kensington, meaning you have to rely on the good will of people to help you negotiate stairs and buggy, eek! PS bonus points for anyone who recognises the clock that F & S are stood in front of (clue, it dino-related)

Dino play at home! Dug the tuff tray out of the garage to create this for the big two, and they were delighted! I love that at 6 and 7 they still love playing with their toys and are not growing up too fast. Long may it continue!

Sasha has been really into painting again lately, and she was trying to do a self-portrait for one of her rainbows ‘artists’ badges.

I was invited to a fantastic festive dining event by Amara Living and chef Anna Barnett last week, and it did not disappoint: the food was delicious, and whilst I know it’s only just November, it felt like we were being eased into the festive/winter season, with sumptuous cocktails, beautiful decor and great company. I rounded it off with a trip to the Tate Modern and a night out with one of my best friends- what more could a gal want?!

That’s what we’ve been up to lately- what about you?

Sasha’s 6th Birthday

Posted on May 13, 2018

On Thursday our beautiful girl turned 6. She is clearly a ‘birthday person’, having essentially been planning this day and her subsequent party since, oh, JANUARY (and thank god the day finally arrived!). I always remember enjoying my birthday as a kid, but my excitement clearly isn’t a patch on…

2017….A brand new year!

Posted on January 1, 2017

There’s something about starting a new year that gives me a real boost, and I always feel that I can’t wait to put plans into practice. I’m not really one for resolutions these days, as I think it always makes you feel mildly depressed and puts a downer on things…

2018 Year in Review {April – June}

Posted on January 4, 2019

I’m back with the next part of our 2018 year highlights- covering from April until June. I’m kind of regretting beginning this as these posts take so long to do, what with the time it takes to upload the pics from my iPhone (seriously!), but I know I’ll be glad…
