Making the most of visiting London with IHG

Posted on December 13, 2016 By Becky

Living in Zone 5 of London, we’re lucky enough to have the best of both worlds- the countryside close by, yet we’re only a short train ride away from central London and all it has to offer.

With a new baby now due next year, there’s a big chance that for the year or so after baby arrives, Adam and myself will be planning more short ‘staycations’ in order to feel like we’ve had a break and some time to ourselves- after all, I believe that it’s still important to remember why you’re a couple and not just parents together!

Living so close to central London, we sometimes take for granted just how amazing a city it really is- so much culture, nightlife, shopping and dining, we really are spoilt for choice, and even after living in London for 8 years, there is still so much more that I want to see and experience.

Can you believe it’s been 14 years since I’ve been on the London Eye, despite walking past it on our numerous trips to the Southbank?!

In my humble opinion, the best way to make the most of London is to spend a long weekend there, hotel and all, so you can be up and about and in the thick of everything and squeeze in as much as possible. And, awful as it sounds, preferably without the ankle biters in tow!

If you’re looking for options for somewhere to stay, why not try a London hotel belonging to the InterContinental Hotel Group? With big name hotels based in locations as diverse as Mayfair and Vauxhall, there’s bound to be one that takes your fancy, and enable you to make the most of one of the best cities in the world.

What are you waiting for? Book that New Year break and beat the January blues!

Yesterday Sasha, my Mum, and I, ventured ‘Up West’ (in true Eastenders style), to visit the Natural History Museum in South Kensington. We go to the Science Museum quite often, but haven’t been to the NHM for a really long time, in fact, the last time I went was just…
