My Captured Moment from… September 2013

This photo of Freddie and Sasha, from over two years ago, always makes me smile, and is one that we actually have framed. I love how it symbolises our family’s love of cooking and baking (not always successfully, mind!), and seeing this I realise just how involved they’ve been in the kitchen from a very young age- Sasha wasn’t even two here.

I can be a bit of a control freak in some areas, but I actually really enjoy seeing them be creative in when it comes to helping bake, or help me make different dishes. Whilst they certainly have their likes and dislikes when it comes to food, overall they’re pretty good eaters, and I wonder if seeing us enjoy so many different types of foods has contributed to this? Chances are though, we’ve just got lucky!

Licking the bowl after baking is, to me, a childhood right of passage, and something that I remember doing so clearly with my own Mum. And of course, it’s the best bit of the whole thing!

I’m linking up with the lovely Heledd for ‘My Captured Moment’!

On of my big ‘hobby goals’, among others  for 2016, is to really practice and master my DSLR on manual. I’ve nearly always used it in automatic, but with the help of brilliant YouTube tutorials I am gradually getting to grips with it. I bought a portrait lens for my Nikon…

Lovely picture! I love cooking and baking with my little girl. She can be quite a fussy eater, but I find that when she helps in the kitchen, she is more likely to eat the food we prepare. And yes! Licking the bowl is a must :-). #MyCapturedMoment

Love it Becky!! And I couldn’t agree more, one of my favourite things to do with the girls is baking. Even today at 29 weeks pregnant Poppy and I made chocolate brownie cupcakes. This is such a sweet picture and licking the bowl is ALWAYS the best bit – no matter your age ; )

Thanks so much for linking up to My Captured Moment hon xx

Hi Becky, it is a nice picture and I love the fact that the bowl is on the floor being enjoyed.. Being creative in the kitchen with children must encourage them to try different foods, I know the first thing I want to do when I’ve been cooking something nice is to try it (I do hold myself back… Well most of the time!).

And licking the spoon is a must for all little kitchen helpers.

    xx

This is a stunning photograph and I can definitely see why you would have it framed. I love baking with my daughter. She is almost three and it is one of her favourite activities for us to do together. I also have a wonderful photograph of her with chocolate around her mouth from the obligatory licking of the bowl. #MyCapturedMoment Hugs Lucy xxxx
