Our week in numbers- Butlins Special!

This past week we have been staying at the Butlins Bognor Regis Resort as part of my Ambassador role for them. I am pleased to say that we have all had a fantastic time there, travelling via Peppa Pig World which, of course, was a WIN with both Freddie and Sasha! It was fantastic to spend so much time as a family, and with my Mum too, and needless to say the children are now having a chilled-out weekend after a hectic 5 days. There was so much to do at the resort, I fear the children will find home very boring in comparison! I am in the process of writing up, and sorting through photos for a HUGE blog post or two all about our trip, to be posted next week.

In the meantime, here is our last week in numbers!

9– times Freddie asked “are we nearly there yet?” on the way to Peppa Pig World on Monday. It definitely got a little wearing!

1– hour, the time it took to drive from Peppa Pig World to Bognor Regis (this time, with less “are-we-nearly-there-yets?”!)

105 -the number of our lovely Gold Apartment at Butlins. It was clean, the bedrooms spacious, and as usual, I was impressed with the swan ‘towel art’ left on our bed (love me a bit of towel art!).

12– pounds, the cost of hiring another buggy on site, in the vain hope that Freddie would have rare nap during the day so he might not be so tired later in the evening. Great value hire cost, alas, F took not one nap in it, but it was worth having just in case!

45 – minutes, the length of time my INCREDIBLE head, back and shoulder massage was in the Ocean Spa at Butlins. Mum and Ad both had massages too during our stay, such a treat and a little breather away from two over-excited small people.

1.5– hours, the length of time spent overall by F & S in the Little Tikes vehicle play area during our stay. I SO wish they’d had these cars in adult sizes, there was so much space to zoom around!

16 – tiny 2-4 year olds took part in the Soccer Tots class on the Thursday. Freddie and Sasha had great fun running about and practicing ‘skills’ and scoring goals- the guys taking it were fantastic with this age group (and I’ve discovered I can do a mean ‘header’ too!).

16– the number of delicious pancakes we consumed as a family for breakfast during our stay at Butlins, often accompanied by a sausage or two!

3 – times us adults (including my 64 year old Mum!) managed down the kiddy waterslides in the Splash Waterworld before I got gently told off by a slightly amused lifeguard- we didn’t realise we couldn’t have a go too, whoops! I definitely recommend going to the early tots session 8.30-9.30 if you have little ones, as they have the run of the pool and wave machines etc are turned off. Both Freddie and Sasha really enjoyed themselves and felt confident to pootle around the pool, without fear of being knocked over by excited older children.

3– the number of shows that Sasha enjoyed watching in the Skyline Pavillion. She loved Fireman Sam, her Angelina Ballerina dance class and caught some of the Thomas the Tank Engine Show. Freddie was too busy dragging Daddy to the nearby soft play zone!

1– Little tiger we gained, when Sasha had her face painted at the brilliant stand in the Pavillion!

7– Prizes won in the amusement arcade, much to the joy of our little ones. Just as we were about to leave the resort yesterday, Adam had one last go on a ‘grabber’, despite me saying that no one ever wins on them, and he actually won a giant cuddly Sooty toy- I was left eating my words!

4– Days of BEAUTIFUL weather- we really were very lucky.

2– the number of minutes walk to the beach from the Butlins Resort. We took a lovely late afternoon stroll along here on the Tuesday. I always love the sea air, you can definitely tell the difference between it and London fumes!

About a million – The number of times Freddie and Sasha wanted to go on the Tellytubby ride in the amusement arcade. Out of all the exciting rides there were to go on, this is the relatively tame one that we had to visit several times a day. Kids are weird, I swear!

Countless- the number of friendly, helpful and amazing staff on site. From the handyman who stopped and gave us directions to our apartment on arrival when we looked a bit lost, to the waiter in The Diner who talked to Freddie and played trains with him at our table for a good 5-10 minutes, despite being busy, they were ALL fabulous. We didn’t come across a single ‘bad egg’, and everyone appeared to love working there, whatever their job. Nothing was too much trouble.
