Top Tips To Prevent Lower Back Pain At Work & At Home Every Day In Thailand

Posted on June 21, 2024July 7, 2025 By Becky

There is no one who hasn’t experienced some kind of back pain in their life thus far and as we get older, we will experience it even more. For the vast majority of people here in Thailand, the pain is quite mild and lasts a short time but in some other cases, it lasts longer than it should and so this is when we need to find some help. We do things every single day that puts pressure on the lower back and for those of you who are sitting in an office chair for most of the day, you will know exactly what I am referring to here.

The good news however is that there are things that you can do to avoid this wear and tear on your lower back and you can receive backache treatment from qualified physiotherapists who can address the pain and give you further advice on how to keep it away for longer. Along with a visit to your physiotherapist, the following are some other top tips that will help to prevent lower back pain when you are at work or at home.

  • Do some regular exercises – You need to keep yourself in shape so that you can strengthen the muscles in your back and keep your abdomen strong as well. If you do core strengthening exercises then these help to support your lower spine and keep back pain away. Try to put aside 30 minutes every single day to do some core exercises.
  • You need to lose some weight – On many occasions, more back pain is caused by the fact that you are carrying around too much weight and so you need to put things into place to get you down to the weight that you should be for your height. You could incorporate some exercise every single day and cut down on the number of calories that you consume on a daily basis.
  • Practice proper posture – Many of us when we are sitting in the chair are slumped over and this is not good for lower back problems. The way that you carry yourself in the way that you walk around dictates whether or not you’re going to experience back pain. Be more aware of how you sit, how you stand, how you walk and how you lift things every single day. Always let the knees do the lifting and lift with your legs.
  • Invest in a proper chair – You may have to spend a little bit of money but this is your health we’re talking about here, so invest in a chair that supports your lower back and you are able to rest your elbows on it easily.

If you follow the above pieces of advice then there’s no reason that you would be suffering from back pain in the office or at your home. Be sure to stand and stretch once in a while throughout the day.
