The 6 Best Brunch Spots in London

Posted on May 26, 2025May 25, 2026 By Becky

London’s brunch scene offers an almost unimaginable range of flavours, cultures, and experiences. From the bustling markets of Borough to the chic streets of Notting Hill, the city’s eateries offer a plethora of options for those seeking the perfect mid-morning meal. Whether you’re craving a traditional English fry-up or a plant-based twist on pancakes, there’s something for every palate.

Of course, with great brunch comes great queues, especially on weekends. But in typical London fashion, people make the most of the wait. You’ll see foodies snapping pre-meal photos for Instagram, couples sharing their brunch dates in their stories, and solo diners diving into a bit of mobile entertainment. Some even pass the time catching up on the latest news or diving into a quick game on their phones, think new slot sites not on gamstop, poker, or crash games – all while waiting for their avocado toast and latte to arrive. It’s the kind of multitasking that makes even the slowest brunch line feel like part of the experience.

Sune, Broadway Market – Small Plates and Smoky Flair

The city’s diverse culinary landscape is reflected in its brunch offerings. At Sune, located on the edge of Broadway Market, diners can indulge in experimental small plates with international flair. The pork chop, grilled over an open flame and served with Madeira sauce and green peppercorn, is a must-try. The charred flatbread with crème fraîche and horseradish, and a baked omelette topped with creamed leeks and melted comté, showcase the creativity of the New York-born head chef. The natural wine list is just as compelling, staff are happy to match your tastes with a unique pour.

Khao Bird, Borough Market – Thai BBQ in Bridget Jones Territory

In the heart of Borough Market, Khao Bird brings bold Northern Thai barbecue to the London brunch crowd. This tiny place, which is located at The Globe Tavern, the famous fictitious apartment of Bridget Jones, balances noughties nostalgia with really intriguing tastes.  Burmese curries, Som Tam Bloody Marys, succulent meatballs, grilled corn ribs with coconut sauce and deep-fried bao and coconut ice cream round out the menu, which is plenty of flavour.  One of the few restaurants where you will want to intentionally take leftovers home is this one.

Holy Carrot, Notting Hill – Plant-Based Indulgence

If you prefer plant-based options, Holy Carrot in Notting Hill stands out with its inventive and decadent brunch menu. The celeriac schnitzel served with katsu curry and pickles delivers a satisfying crunch, while the chocolate babka glazed with coffee kombucha steals the spotlight. The décor is bright and Instagrammable, with the food equally so. Holy Carrot also excels in its sustainability approach, offering a low-waste philosophy and an impressive drinks list of natural wines and cleverly crafted cocktails like the jalapeño-laced Margarita or the ‘Holy Spritzer’.

Norman’s Cafe, Archway – A No-Fuss Classic

Norman’s Cafe in Archway is the antidote to London’s more flamboyant brunch venues. Known for its nostalgic appeal, it serves up traditional dishes without pretence. English muffins loaded with all the trimmings, proper bacon sandwiches, porridge with jam, and even syrup sponge with custard are just a few highlights. It’s a place where hangovers are cured and memories are shared, served with a side of brown sauce and a decent cup of tea. Despite its simplicity, Norman’s remains a cult favourite for those craving comfort.

Claro, St James’s – Sunny Mediterranean Feasts

In the elegant neighbourhood of St James’s, Claro adds a Mediterranean twist to the city’s brunch offerings. Chef Shadi Issawy brings flavours from Greece, Israel and Germany into one cohesive experience. The Benedict burek, filled with wild mushrooms and topped with hollandaise and poached eggs, is a dish that lingers in memory. Larger groups can opt for the breakfast tray for two, featuring eggs, baked goods, cured salmon and seasonal juices. The cocktails are equally exciting, and the juices—think pomegranate and carrot—are as nourishing as they are colourful.

Chuku’s, Tottenham – A Taste of Nigeria

Chuku’s in Tottenham brings a unique blend of Nigerian tradition and contemporary flair to the London brunch table. Run by a sibling duo, the restaurant offers sharing tapas-style dishes, with items like jollof quinoa, plantain waffles, and honey-glazed wings. The décor is vibrant, and so is the vibe—casual yet full of energy. It’s a brilliant way to explore West African flavours in a setting that feels like brunch with friends at home. Chuku’s is also known for its community-driven approach, making every visit feel warm and personal.

The Capital of Brunch

London’s brunch scene in 2025 is a dynamic blend of tradition and innovation. With a plethora of options spanning various cuisines, dietary preferences, and dining experiences, the city continues to solidify its reputation as a global brunch capital. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, there’s always a new spot to discover and a new dish to savour—and perhaps even a cheeky game to play while you wait.
