Sol Beija Flor Elasti-Cream Review

Sol Beija Flor Elasti-Cream Review: Is This The Anti-Aging Body Cream We’ve All Been Waiting For?

Posted on September 23, 2025 By Becky

Key Takeaways

  • The scent: Often compared to Baccarat Rouge 540 – think tropical florals with dragonfruit and vanilla
  • Best for: Firming, plumping, and boosting elasticity (requires consistent daily use)
  • Texture: Rich, buttery cream that melts into skin without greasiness
  • Key ingredients: Cacay oil (retinol alternative), vegan collagen, plant squalane
  • Price: £20 for 75ml, £46 for 240ml
  • Different from Bum Bum: More floral and anti-aging focused vs the caramel-scented firming original
  • Results: Noticeable skin softness and subtle firmness with daily use over 2+ weeks

Let’s take a look at Sol de Janeiro’s Beija Flor Elasti-Cream, shall we? As someone who’s been absolutely obsessed with their Bum Bum Cream , I was looking forward to trying a new (to me) cream from their range. And with a busy lifestyle, I need body care that actually works without requiring a PhD in skincare to understand it.

Sol Beija Flor Elasti-Cream Review

What Does Beija Flor Elasti-Cream Actually Do?

Sol de Janeiro’s Beija Flor Elasti-Cream is basically an anti-aging body moisturiser on steroids. While their famous Brazilian Bum Bum Cream focuses on firming and smoothing (hello, caffeine!), this little pink beauty is all about turning back the clock on your skin. Think of it as your body’s answer to that expensive face cream you’ve been eyeing up, and this is increasingly on my radar now I’m the wrong side of 40!

The cream is apparently designed to:

  • Boost collagen production naturally
  • Improve skin elasticity (hence the name!)
  • Plump up fine lines and crepey skin
  • Provide deep, long-lasting hydration
  • Support cellular renewal without irritation

What makes it special is the trio of hero ingredients: Cacay oil (which acts like retinol but for your body), vegan collagen, and plant squalane. It’s like having a spa treatment in your bathroom, which is about as close as us parents get to actual spa visits these days!

Which Sol de Janeiro Cream is Best for Firming?

Now this is where it gets interesting, and I know you’re wondering because I certainly was when I first discovered this range.

If you’re after immediate firming and smoothing, the original Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is still your best bet. The caffeine content means you’ll see tighter-looking skin pretty much straight away – perfect for those “oh god, I’m wearing shorts today” moments.

But if you’re thinking long-term anti-aging and elasticity, Beija Flor Elasti-Cream takes the crown. It’s working on a deeper level to actually improve your skin structure over time, rather than just creating temporary tightening.

Personally? I use both. Bum Bum Cream for when I need instant results (hello, date nights), and Beija Flor for my daily routine because I’m 40-something and prevention is better than cure, right?

I actually did a full comparison in my Bum Bum Cream review if you want all the juicy details on that one too.

What Does Beija Flor Elasti-Cream Smell Like?

Oh my days, the scent! This is where Sol de Janeiro always gets me – their fragrances are absolutely divine.

Beija Flor smells like a tropical holiday wrapped in expensive perfume. The official notes are Brazilian jasmine, pink dragonfruit, ocean air, and vanilla, but honestly? Everyone says it smells like Baccarat Rouge 540, and I can totally see why.

It’s got this gorgeous fruity-floral vibe that’s sophisticated enough for grown-ups but not so heavy that it gives you a headache when you’re chasing Arlo around the playground. The dragonfruit gives it this lovely fresh sweetness, while the jasmine adds proper elegance. The vanilla base means it’s got staying power too – I can still catch whiffs of it hours later.

Compared to Bum Bum Cream’s caramel-pistachio situation, this is definitely more “perfume counter at Selfridges” than “dessert shop,” if that makes sense. Both gorgeous, just different vibes entirely.

The Big Question: Is Beija Flor Elasti-Cream the Same as Bum Bum Cream?

Short answer: No, absolutely not.

Long answer: They’re like sisters from the same Brazilian family, but with completely different personalities and purposes.

Here’s the breakdown:

Bum Bum Cream:

  • Focuses on immediate firming and cellulite reduction
  • Contains caffeine as the main active
  • Smells like caramel and pistachios
  • Gives instant skin tightening
  • Best for: Quick fixes and temporary smoothing

Beija Flor Elasti-Cream:

  • Long-term anti-aging and elasticity improvement
  • Contains cacay oil, vegan collagen, and squalane
  • Smells floral and fruity (the Cheirosa ’68 fragrance)
  • Works gradually to improve skin structure
  • Best for: Daily anti-aging routine and deep hydration

Think of Bum Bum as your Saturday night emergency fix, and Beija Flor as your everyday investment in future you. I honestly think they complement each other perfectly, though your bank account might disagree!

My Honest Review After 8 Weeks of Use

I’ve been testing this cream for two months now (because anything less feels pointless for anti-aging claims), and here’s what actually happened.

The Good Stuff

The texture is absolutely lush. It’s rich and creamy but melts into your skin like butter. No sticky residue, no waiting around for it to absorb – you can get dressed straight away, which is essential when you’ve got three kids hammering on the bathroom door. It goes on quite thick at first, and I was worried it wouldn’t massage in well, but actually it was fine and sunk in quicker than expected.

Sol Beija Flor Elasti-Cream Review

The scent is genuinely gorgeous. I’ve had the husband comment on it multiple times, and let’s be honest, getting compliments from husbands about skincare is like finding a unicorn. It’s the kind of scent that makes you feel a bit more put-together even in your joggers.

My skin does feel different. After about three weeks of daily use, my arms and legs felt noticeably softer and looked more radiant. The slight crepiness I’d started noticing around my elbows and on my chest (charming, isn’t it?) has improved a bit.

The hydration is good. Unlike some body creams that disappear after a few hours, this stuff keeps working. Perfect for our British weather that seems determined to suck all moisture from existence.

Tips for using

You need to use it religiously. This isn’t a once-in-a-while luxury – if you want the anti-aging benefits, it needs to become part of your daily routine. I’m talking every single day, sometimes twice if your skin’s particularly thirsty.

Results take time. Don’t expect miracle transformations after a week. This is proper skincare, not magic. I started noticing differences around the three-week mark.

It’s not cheap. At £46 for the big tub, it’s definitely an investment (I have a smaller one). Though to put it in perspective, it’s still way cheaper than most face anti-aging creams, and you’re treating your entire body.

The Science

Let’s take a look at why this stuff supposedly works, because I love understanding what I’m slathering all over myself.

Cacay Oil is the star here – like its use in other Sol products, it’s got three times more retinol activity than rosehip oil and twice the vitamin E content. But unlike facial retinoids that can make you look like a tomato, cacay oil is gentle enough for daily body use. It’s basically nature’s way of giving you retinol benefits without the drama.

Vegan Collagen might sound like marketing nonsense, but it’s actually a blend of amino acids that help your skin maintain its own collagen production. According to while you can’t directly replace lost collagen through topical products, supporting your skin’s natural production is the next best thing.

Plant Squalane is brilliant because it mimics your skin’s natural oils. As we get older (and trust me, chasing three kids ages you in dog years), our skin produces less of these natural oils. Squalane steps in to fill the gaps, literally plumping up your skin from within.

How I Use It (The Real Routine)

Forget complicated 10-step routines – this is how it actually works in real life with kids, work, and general chaos:

Morning: Quick shower (because who has time for baths?), pat dry, slather this all over while the kettle boils for my first coffee. Takes about 30 seconds and I’m done.

Evening: After the kids are finally in bed and I’ve had five minutes to breathe, I’ll apply it again if my skin’s feeling particularly thirsty.

Special occasions: If I’m wearing something sleeveless or a shorter dress, I’ll make sure to give my arms and legs an extra layer about 20 minutes before getting dressed. The glow is real, people.

Who Should Buy This?

You’ll love this if:

  • You’re starting to notice your skin isn’t as firm as it used to be (hello, 30s and beyond!)
  • You want an anti-aging body routine that actually works
  • You’re obsessed with gorgeous scents that make you feel fancy
  • You prefer investing in one really good product rather than lots of mediocre ones
  • You loved Bum Bum Cream, or Bom Dia Bright Cream, but want something more sophisticated

Maybe give it a miss if:

  • You’re looking for instant, dramatic results
  • You can’t commit to daily use
  • You prefer unscented products
  • You’re on a tight budget and need basics first

Value for Money: Is It Worth £46?

Look, I’m not going to pretend £46 isn’t a chunk of money. The 240ml tub lasts me about 3-4 months with daily use, which works out to roughly £12-15 per month. That’s less than most of us spend on coffee (don’t @ me), and it’s an investment in feeling good about yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this on my face? Technically yes, but I wouldn’t. It’s quite rich and might be too heavy for facial skin. Stick to body use and invest in a proper face cream and lip butter.

Is it safe during pregnancy/breastfeeding? The cacay oil is a natural retinol alternative that’s gentler than traditional retinoids, but I’d always check with your GP first. Better safe than sorry!

Can teenagers use it? Absolutely! It’s actually a lovely way to start good skincare habits early. Though they might prefer the original Bum Bum Cream for the instant firming effects.

Does it clash with fake tan? I haven’t had any issues, and the formula is quite moisturising which actually helps fake tan or tanning drops last longer. Just maybe don’t apply it immediately after tanning.

How does it compare to expensive anti-aging body lotions? Honestly? It holds its own against products twice the price. The combination of active ingredients and that gorgeous scent makes it feel properly luxurious.

Where to Buy Sol Beija Flor Elasti-Cream and Final Thoughts

You can find Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Cream at most major retailers – I usually grab mine from Boots or online when there are offers on. Sometimes Sephora does brilliant gift sets during the holidays if you want to try multiple products.

This cream has genuinely become part of my regular routine in a way that most beauty products don’t. My skin looks better, feels softer, and smells incredible.

Is it a miracle worker? No. Will it turn back time completely? Also no. But will it make you feel a bit more fabulous while actually improving your skin over time? Absolutely yes.

For us busy mums juggling everything, having one product that multitasks as daily moisture, anti-aging treatment, and confidence boost is pretty much perfect. Plus, anything that makes me smell like an expensive perfume while I’m doing the school run is a winner in my book.

At the end of the day, we spend so much time looking after everyone else – our kids, partners, maybe aging parents too. Taking five minutes each day to use something that makes you feel good isn’t selfish, it’s essential. And if it happens to improve your skin while smelling like a tropical holiday? Even better.
