How To Feel More Motivated At Work

Posted on April 21, 2025 By Becky

We’ve all been there – having a major career slump is something that isn’t unique, yet can feel draining when it does happen. You might find you no longer look forward to going to work and even having a great rapport with your coworkers isn’t cutting it anymore. Perhaps you find it a real slog to get up in the mornings and are no longer as proud of your work as you once would have been. It can be that you still want to like your job, but just aren’t sure why you aren’t enjoying it, or perhaps you want a new career altogether, such as looking into ambulance EMT jobs. In this article we take a look at some top tips that should help you feel more motivated at work in no time. Keep on reading to find out more and get inspired.

Get to the root of the problem

When you’re not feeling motivated but you used to, you need to think about just why that is. Is there something in your home life that is making you dread coming to work? Do you perhaps miss the way the office used to feel since a new manager took over? Do you not get on with your colleagues? Is there no career progression? Finding out the root of why you’re not feeling motivated can help you know how to make a plan to fix it.

Ensure you have a motivational work space

The space you work at can have a real impact on your mood. You want to ensure your desk is clear and free of clutter, that you can easily reach all the resources you need to and that you’re not around distractions. Make sure you have plenty of fresh air and natural daylight and that you have some plants or greenery around. Work to make a space that you love to spend time in and that makes you feel calm and ready to work, as opposed to somewhere that you can’t wait to get away from.

Build a relationship with your colleagues

Your colleagues and the people you work with are another major part of your work day and if you don’t get on with them, or don’t know them very well, it can make work a lot more difficult than it needs to be. One of the top ways that you can feel more motivated when you are in the workplace is to build a good relationship with your colleagues that can help you to enjoy coming into work. Offer to go out for a drink with them, or perhaps arrange a team building activity?

These are just a few things you can do that can help you feel more motivated at work. Whether you’re looking to switch up your career or want to stick where you are and work on getting back into the zone, the tips should help you to do so. What are some top tips you have for feeling more motivated at work? Let us know in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you.
