How Timber Windows Transformed the Character of Our Period Home

When we first moved into our 1930s terrace, the windows were… well, let’s just say they’d seen better days. The old timber frames were draughty, the paint was peeling, and honestly, they looked tired. Was It Worth It?

Absolutely. I won’t pretend that quality timber windows are the cheapest option upfront. They’re an investment. But when you consider the lifespan, the energy savings, the added value to your home, and—most importantly—the daily improvement to your quality of life, it makes complete sense.

Our home feels more like ours now. It’s brighter, warmer, and more comfortable. The character that drew us to a period property in the first place has been preserved and enhanced rather than compromised.
