A Bedroom Update using Ikea Picture Ledges

I think I mentioned in one of my recent posts that whilst I’m pretty good at getting the ‘big’ jobs done in a home i.e. kitchens, bathrooms, decorating, I sometimes lose momentum when it comes to the finishing touches. For a while I’ve felt that our bedroom was ‘okay’, but that it needed a few extra bits (and you can see what I added to our dressing table in this post). 

I mainly wanted some pictures and prints and some greenery, but when it came to the former I wasn’t sure what would be the best way of displaying them.

In the end we decided on some good old Ikea picture ledges (thanks Mum!), and I ordered some prints to start with from one of my favourite online shops, Desenio. We fitted two, white, long picture ledges above our bed, and one above our dressing table, and then I’ve been faffing with prints and frames ever since- they will no doubt be ever-changing! 

Chuck a plant in (also from Ikea) in a bell basket from This Modern Life, and I am SO pleased with our bedroom- it really does feel complete now.

Even interiors-rookie husband agrees!
