Enjoy the Timeless Style of Interior Shutters

One of the things that I’m really looking forward to when we move to our new house, is the fact that it has beautiful shutters in the living room windows, rather than curtains. Don’t get me wrong, I still think curtains can have their place within a home, but there’s something about shutters that really ramp up the sophistication and style of a place. 

As it stands, the shutters are only in that one room so far of our new home, but we’re hoping to roll them out in the bedrooms too. Whenever I drive past a house with shutters (and there seem to be quite a few in our neck of the woods), I’m always drawn to how slick and ‘clean looking’ they make it. 

I think that especially if you have white shutters, it means that you can change up your decor as often as you want, as they go with practically everything. In our current living room, we would struggle slightly to ditch the grey walls (or rather veer away from that theme) as we have quite dark grey curtains and ones that I’ve never exactly loved, even though I can’t put my finger on why #interiorsloverwoes With white shutters in our new place I can indulge myself in changing up the colour scheme every few years without it being a total money sucker- hurrah!

One of the joys of shutters (and certain blinds) is the fact they suit pretty much every style of home- from slick city apartments to period homes, and they are also a feature in their own right, plus provide extra security as you can fully shut them, or part shut them when you’re out and about to stop people looking in. I love the range of blinds and shutters that Luxaflex do, and it’s the first time I’ve really taken time out to explore what shutter options are available to us come the autumn and we move home (don’t talk to me about the ever-increasing delay with this!), and I’ve already bookmarked several options.
