Freddie is 5!

Yesterday our smart, funny, kind and sensitive boy turned 5- half a decade! A cliche is a cliche for a reason, and in true cliche fashion, I can safely say that I can’t believe how fast the time has gone, yet it also feels like Freddie has been around forever. We honestly can’t imagine a life before him (expect more sleep, maybe).

Our little chap has definitely made me a better person, has made me a million times more driven to do well for him and his sister, and also teaches me patience, to find the joy in the little things and has given me more knowledge of the London transport system than I know what to do with!

I love how he is flourishing at school, both academically and socially, and I hope we can continue to be good parents to him, to guide him when he needs it, and let him become the best person he can be. I love our conversations about all sorts of random stuff, I love his thirst for knowledge, and I love how caring he is towards the people he loves.

We celebrated with a party for his school friends, a Paw Patrol birthday cake and a fish and chip supper!

Happy 5th Birthday ‘Double F’- we love you and can’t wait for another half decade of fun, love and adventures!

Eight

Posted on February 10, 2019January 3, 2022

On Wednesday Freddie turned 8 – EIGHT! In true cliche blogging style, I can’t believe how quickly the time seems to have gone and it seems I blinked and we were in the hospital that first sleepless night, I remember it like yesterday… HOWEVER, thankfully if I do actually think…

I’ve been meaning to write one of these posts for ages, as a little diary to look back on for us to remember what the children were like/what they were doing at certain ages. Time flies so fast and there are moments from their babyhood that I don’t even fully…

Pancake Saturdays

Posted on March 29, 2015May 21, 2025

When I had children I always knew I wanted to create a few traditions for them, lovely little rituals they might want to recreate with their own family once they’d grown and flown, and things they’d remember fondly even as adults. Step forward, Pancake Saturdays! This ‘treat’ breakfast has…

Awww, such a cool dude. My eldest turned five a couple of months ago. It’s such a fun age. He’s fabulous to spend time with (and has the same pumps as F, too) x

Thanks Rachel! It really is a great age- so fun and innocent, yet you can ‘do’ more with them now! x

Aww, I knew our boys were close in age but I hadn’t realised quite how close. Happy (belated) birthday Freddie! And he sounds so so SO like my own little man, except his obsession is planets and space, there is nothing he doesn’t know about them I swear and he regularly puts us to shame with his knowledge. Doesn’t bode well for us for the future does it, that they are already so clever and knowledgable? In another five years they’ll clearly have long overtaken us and will know everything! His cake looked ace too, well done you! x
