4 Insurance Policies you should really take out as an adult

Posted on January 11, 2023December 23, 2025 By Becky

no exam medical insurance

Life is a funny old thing, isn’t it? One minute you’re small and playing with your friends in the kindergarten school yard, the next you’ve suddenly graduated from college, are holding down and developing a career, possibly travelling the world and then maybe even having a family of your own! Growing up, we all have these ideal expectations about where our lives might take us, and whilst it’s exciting (and a little daunting!), there are certain things you really should do in order to make a success of all things ‘adulting’, including making sure you have the right insurance policies, such as no exam life insurance (life insurance no medical exam), and how to use life insurance to build wealth slowly, should the worst happen.

So what policies should you consider? We run through 4 insurance policies you should really take out as an adult…

Life Insurance

Life insurance should definitely be at the top of your list of crucial policies, especially if you have a family. By taking out Life Insurance, with the top life insurance companies for different age groups you can protect the people who are financially dependent on you, and help prevent financial hardship for them should you pass away. Whilst many Life Insurance policies require a medical examination, there are several types of no medical exam Life Insurance, whereby you don’t need one in order to take out a policy. When it comes to no exam life insurance, it’s a great option for younger couples, young families, and very busy people, who the can get their policy set up seamlessly online, without having to find the time to get an examination carried out.

Health Insurance

The soaring costs of medical bills means that taking out a robust health insurance policy is a no-brainer. Simple visits to the local doctor can be expensive, whilst a serious accident with a hospital stay can produce a bill akin to a 2 week trip to Barbados! By taking out health insurance, you can protect yourself and your family from racking up bank-busting, potentially life-changing bills, and ensure that you get the best treatment possible. For those looking for flexible coverage options, temporary plans can help manage unexpected medical costs. Options like short term health insurance florida (or elsewhere) can be suitable in such situations, providing coverage while you arrange a long-term policy or fill gaps in existing plans. By taking out health insurance, you can protect yourself and your family from racking up bank-busting, potentially life-changing bills, and ensure that you get the best treatment possible. Additionally, if you have been affected by a critical illness, you can consider taking out claims for trauma insurance with Curo (or do a quick Google search and find a company local to you). Those based in the UAE might also explore Critical Illness Insurance Dubai options to ensure comprehensive coverage and financial support during challenging times.
Home Insurance

They say that a man’s (or woman’s) home is his (or her!) castle, so the thought of replacing it is an expensive proposition. When looking at different home insurance policies, you must make sure that you carefully check what is covered. You’ll be looking at the ‘bricks and mortar’ value of your home, PLUS its contents, the value of which will vary massively from household to household, and therefore policies can vary hugely when it comes to what they’ll cover. Also, make sure that any policy you take out covers the cost of liability for any injuries that may occur on your property.

Vehicle Insurance

When it comes to your vehicle, most places by law require you to have some kind of insurance for it. Even if you think your vehicle isn’t worth very much, you should still always get the best vehicle insurance policy that you can afford. Just one accident involving your vehicle where someone is injured or their property is damaged could subject you to a very expensive lawsuit that could be life changing financially for yourself and your family, so it makes sense to get the most comprehensive policy possible.

Whilst shopping around for different insurance policies can seem daunting, by having the right Insurance you help to lessen the impact by providing financial benefits for covered losses, should the worst happen. Once you have the above policies taken out? Congratulations, you are officially a ‘proper’, fully protected adult!
