Bigger bore, bigger fittings, and maximum capacity. It sounds logical, but there is a point where gains level off. If the rail is too large, fuel velocity can drop too much during low-demand conditions. That can affect response and make fine control at idle or cruise slightly less precise. The aim is balance. Enough volume to prevent pressure drop and dampen pulses, without turning the system sluggish.
