Horizn Studios SoFo Weekender Tennis Edition Holdall Review

Posted on August 5, 2025 By Becky

On the blog today I’m over the moon to share my latest obsession: the Horizn Studios SoFo Weekender Tennis Club Edition holdall. If you’re hunting for a very fancy-looking tennis travel bag (or a stylish weekender holdall for your next getaway), this might be your new best friend!

I’d been searching for a versatile travel weekender bag that bridges my weekly tennis lessons with everyday family life plus weekends away, so when Horizn got in touch and asked if I’d like to road test one of their products, I jumped at the chance, as the Tennis & Travel Club Collection seemed to tick all the boxes.

What’s special about the SoFo Tennis Edition?

This isn’t your average sports bag or holdall. It’s part of the limited‑edition Tennis & Travel Club Collection, which means that the bag has that exclusive look and feel combined with a bit of tennis‑inspired flair, but in a classy, subtle way. The minimalist silhouette of the bag means it’s great for looking stylish on gym runs, city breaks, or courtside weekends alike, but still with the practically that’s so important to me these days (I know, I know, is this what turning 40 looks like?!).

It arrived nicely packaged up, and in a lovely soft cloth bag of its own to protect it.

Some details about the holdall:

Material: The holdall has recycled web‑dense cotton canvas with a synthetic wax finish, water‑sealed and heat‑resistant – which is perfect for unpredictable weather and hanging around tennis courts.

Smart detailing: This bag includes exterior and interior pockets – great for your phone, purse/wallet and tennis balls, plus a clever back strap that attaches to other Horizn luggage if you have any.

Protective base: Small metal feet help keep the bottom clean and dry when left courtside or even poolside.

Comfort features: There are padded handles, and a removable adjustable coated‑cotton shoulder strap, so it’s comfortable whether you’re carrying by hand or slinging it over the shoulder.

Limited‑edition tag: Each holdall comes with a special edition Tennis Club luggage tag, which is exclusive to this release. It feels premium AND special.

Size and capacity: At roughly 52 × 31 × 20 cm, it offers around 32 L of space, which is just right for a couple of day outfits, gym kit, or tennis essentials.

I’ve been using this bag everywhere for the past couple of weeks. It’s been a great travel companion for city jaunts into London, spontaneous weekends away with the fam (we just spent a weekend at the stunning Art’Otel Battersea), at my tennis lessons, and even the odd gym day. What I love most is how effortlessly it blends style and function. The minimalist design doesn’t scream “sports bag” at all, and it’s just as at home courtside as it is sitting next to me in a cafe. It’s got a timeless, understated look that makes you feel instantly more put‑together, even if you’ve been running around all day, and goes with pretty much any outfit.

Performance-wise, it’s been superb. I’ve carried it packed with sweaty kit, been caught in a surprise downpour, and not once has anything inside ended up damp, as the water‑sealed fabric really does its job. The size is spot‑on too; I’ve managed to fit in a racket cover, spare trainers, a towel, a change of clothes, my tech, and still had room for other bits and bobs. So big enough to hold all your sporty essentials, without being TOO big so that you’re weighed down.

The bag’s pocket setup is fab: the outside pocket is my quick‑grab spot for my phone, keys, and hand sanitiser, while the zipped compartments inside keep valuables safe when I’m mid‑outfit‑change or dashing for coffee.

Horizn Studios Holdall padded strap

Even when it’s fully loaded, the padded handles and adjustable shoulder strap make carrying it really comfortable. Yes, £240 is definitely an investment, but with its durability, great features and limited‑edition exclusivity, it feels like it’s within that sweet spot between premium and practical.

The only downside is that with any light-coloured bag or item of clothing is that there is a risk that it gets dirtier quicker.

Would I recommend the Horizn Studios SoFo Weekender Tennis Club Edition?

100%, yes!

If you want a stylish, structured travel weekender that can double as your tennis or gym bag AND you value durability, weather resistance, and thoughtful design, then this should be high up on your shopping list.
