Transform Your Garden Into Something Truly Magical: 6 Ideas Posted on March 20, 2020September 28, 2022 By Becky There’s nothing better than stepping outside of your door and feeling like you have an incredible outdoor space where you can relax and spend time with family. A magical garden can be the perfect place to catch up, read a book, do some exercise, sunbathe, play a game – pretty much anything you want. Click here for a guide on handling your garden. If your garden isn’t exactly the first place you’d like to chill out when the sun is shining, it’s time to transform it. Below you’ll find some ideas that could help you to transform your garden into a truly magical place: Add A Water Feature Water features help to give your garden a more tranquil feel – they can seriously help you to feel like you’re relaxing on a beach or by a body of water somewhere when you close your eyes! It could be something as simple as a water fountain, or something more complex, like a Koi pond. Create A Social Seating Area Having a social seating area is a must when you want to bring your friends and family together in the comfort of your own garden. Create a comfortable place to sit with furniture that will withstand the elements. Make sure it’s high quality furniture that you won’t have to replace after a few uses/bad weather days! Work On The Aesthetic You Want If you’re going to create a magical garden, you need to work on the aesthetic that you really want. Looking at gardening magazines and on Pinterest can give you a good idea of what you want to aim for to achieve your desired look. You might even want to make a vision board so you have a good idea of what you really want to create. If you’re looking to create a fairy style garden, adding vining plants like morning glory, sweet peas or honeysuckle will give you vines and leaves that climb over a trellis or fence, creating an enchanting look. Roses, violets, and wisteria will attract butterflies and bees, whilst fruiting bushes and trees attract birds. Attracting insects and other wildlife into your garden will make a lovely addition and will further add to the magic. You can find rocks from the local forested areas or buy them from garden centers if you want to create stoned/paved areas. Archways also look great, along with buddhist sculptures to add a zen feel. If you don’t mind the tinkling sound, a wind chime or two could also be nice. If you’re going to overhaul a large portion of your garden, just don’t forget to hire some green waste skip bins so you can effectively clean up and enjoy your garden quickly. Don’t Forget About Lighting You’ll need the right lighting for family get togethers, so invest in something high quality. You can also wrap string lights around trees to create a cosy and cute vibe! Keep It Private and Secure Keeping your garden private and secure will give you peace of mind. Use shrubs, fencing, sturdy gates, and even CCTV to deter intruders and nosy neighbors. Incorporate All 4 Elements Ultimately, your goal should be to include all four elements in your garden. For example: Earth – herbs, veg, trees (try growing your own herbs and veg!) Air – wind chimes, bird feeders Fire – a fire pit, BBQ Water – bird baths, water fountains Which of these ideas are you going to use for your garden?
