7 Medications You Didn’t Know You Could Buy Online

Posted on July 7, 2025 By Becky

Online shopping has become a true savior for busy parents, eliminating the need to get the kids presentable and in the car for a trip to the store. You can buy virtually everything online now, in every category imaginable, from groceries to vacations, cleaning supplies to medications.

But even if you’ve started buying your medications from online pharmacies, you might not be aware of just how many pharmaceuticals you can buy online, often without a prescription. Here, we’re sharing seven medications that many people simply don’t know that they can buy online.

Hair Loss Treatments

It’s understandable if you don’t want to visit your local brick-and-mortar pharmacy to collect a treatment for hair loss. The good news is that some online pharmacies offer topical treatments and tablets for hair loss, so you can discreetly buy what you need. Of course, if you’re buying prescription options, you’ll need to provide medical history, but it’s still quicker and easier than visiting a GP.

Cold Sore Creams

You can also buy antiviral creams, like those used to treat cold sores, through trusted online pharmacies. Most stores stock familiar brand names and can deliver your order quickly, so you’re covered if you feel an outbreak coming on.

ED Tablets

Many people feel embarrassed about buying medicines for erectile dysfunction, despite how common this problem is. If your partner doesn’t want to visit a pharmacy in-person, you can buy treatments like sildenafil tablets through licensed online pharmacies like Hightown Pharmacy. You’ll usually need to answer a few health questions, which will get reviewed by a pharmacist or doctor before they approve the medication.

Thrush treatments

Thrush is another medical issue that can be embarrassing to buy medications for in person, even though it affects around 75% of women at least once in their lifetime. If you’d rather order online, the good news is that many chemists sell both oral capsules and creams for thrush, so you don’t have to leave your home to place an order. Again, you’ll usually have to answer a few screening questions before you buy.

Emergency Contraception

If you ever find yourself concerned about unprotected sex or your first-line contraception failing, you can order morning-after pills to be shipped to your door. Some services offer same-day delivery in metro areas, and you should always check delivery times given that you need to take these pills within three to five days, depending on the type.

Acne Treatments

Acne is something that can affect people at any age, and again, it’s something you might be hesitant to discuss with your local pharmacist. If you’ve already tried over-the-counter creams, you can order prescription-strength treatments through regulated websites, usually off the back of a consultation or review from a pharmacist online.

Takeaway

The big thing to take away from this guide is that many of the issues you may be too embarrassed to address in your local pharmacy can be dealt with online. If you’d rather keep a certain medical condition to yourself, you’ll be pleased to know that pharmacy products are usually delivered with no need for in-person consultations and in discreet packaging.
