5 Projects That Can Transform the Exterior And Interior Of Your Home Posted on October 7, 2022June 18, 2025 By Becky The great thing about owning your own home is that you can start all sorts of projects that can transform your home as a whole. There is so much you can do to your home, which is why it is always best to start off with a plan. Having a plan in place can help you organise your time better, and it can also mean the projects get finished to a higher standard, especially if you consider using a full service remodeling company to renovate your home. If you are wanting to make some changes to your own home but you are a little stuck for ideas, then in this article, we will go over five projects that can transform the exterior and interior of your home. Modernise Your Kitchen Modernising your kitchen is a great way to transform your home as it gives you a completely new space to cook. The kitchen is often considered to be the heart of the home, so if you are someone who regularly entertains guests, then modernising your kitchen is a good way to go. If you have been living in the same house for a while, then you may not even realise your kitchen needs an update, so go around each part of the kitchen and assess which parts could be upgraded. It doesn’t mean you need to strip everything out and start from scratch, it could be something as simple as investing in modern appliances. Buying some new appliances can really transform your kitchen as it will make cooking a lot easier. Have a look online and see what appliances you could buy for your kitchen. Build An Extension Another project that could transform your home is building an extension. Adding an extension to your home, whether it’s a kitchen expansion, a new living area, or bespoke conservatory extensions as a stylish way to bring in more light and connect with your garden, can transform both your exterior and interior as it gives you the chance to have a bit more space in your home. The great thing about building an extension is that you can decide what to do with that space. A lot of people may opt for a conservatory, but you could also use the extra space as an additional bathroom or dining room. If you choose to go down the conservatory route, then you should use corrugated roofing sheets to help protect the conservatory during tough weather conditions. Because of the way it is designed, corrugated roofing can withstand strong winds and heavy rain, so it would be beneficial for your conservatory to have them. Add New Storage Space Adding storage space is a simple way to declutter your home. When you have lots of clutter in your home it can make it seem messy and unwelcoming, so adding some extra storage is a great way for you to tidy up your clutter and transform the space you are living in. Particularly if you have children, you will find that your house gets messy quickly, so you must find different ways of adding secret storage space. If you are lucky to have high ceilings, then it could be a good idea to get some tall storage units or hang some shelves on the wall. That way, your floor space is clear, and all of your items are neatly stored elsewhere. Redecorate If you do not have a huge budget to transform your house, then redecorating is a simple and budget-friendly way to make some big changes. The cost of paint is relatively low, so you won’t need to spend a lot of money during the process. Have a think about what colour scheme you would want throughout the house and then make a bit of a plan. Start off with one room first and then move on to the others once you are happy with the results. Once you have painted, you could buy some nice, framed prints for the wall, as these can add something a little extra to your home. Revamp Your Bathroom Revamping your bathroom is a great way to transform your home and bring it into the present. Dull, dreary bathrooms can make your home feel out-dates, so it would be a good idea to modernise your bathroom space so it looks better for you and any guests that come over. You should start by choosing a colour scheme and then buy different bathroom accessories based on that colour scheme. You could also change your shower and bathtub into something a bit more modern like a walk-in shower and a claw-footed tub. Both of these can really transform your bathroom into a more tranquil and peaceful place. There are lots of ways to revamp your bathroom, but if you are a bit stuck on ideas, then it could be beneficial to look at some inspiration online. There are lots of great ideas online, so do some research before you start making any changes.
