How to Level Up Faster in World of Warcraft Forever

Posted on October 1, 2026 By Becky

World of Warcraft has been around long enough for a whole generation to grow up with Azeroth, and today it can even become a shared hobby, with parents introducing the game to their children or couples and friends playing together.

Over its two decades, the game has gone through countless expansions and remakes. On November 4, 2026, another chapter will begin with World of Warcraft Forever, which takes the original pre-expansion experience as its foundation and builds on it with new zones, quests, and systems. The world may be bigger, but the spirit of the original game remains, including its famously lengthy journey to level 60.

Progress in Classic-style WoW is deliberately slower, which, for some players, is exactly what makes the game so enjoyable. But if you have limited gaming time or simply prefer to reach higher-level content sooner, you’ll want to make the process more efficient.

In this guide, we’ll take a look at the changes that shape the levelling experience in Forever and share the simple ways you can use to speed up your XP gains.

Dungeon Changes

Dungeons bring one of the biggest changes to the levelling experience in WoW Forever. Killing non-boss enemies inside dungeons now provides considerably less XP. Dungeon quests, on the other hand, have been given much larger XP rewards.

Completing each dungeon at least once with all its available quests can give you a very substantial chunk of experience. At the lower levels currently available in the beta, two dungeon quests can provide roughly 85% of an entire level, making early levelling remarkably quick. Higher levels are unlikely to move quite this fast, and tuning can still change things after launch, but the difference from Classic is already hard to miss.

Raw gold drops from dungeons remain fairly modest, although selling useful gear and other items on the Auction House can still bring in some extra income. If you’d rather spend your playtime enjoying the content than grinding for gold to cover training, mounts, and other expenses, you can get cheap WoW Forever gold at WowVendor and have it delivered straight to your in-game mailbox in as little as an hour.

Upgraded Boat Routes

Travel is another area where Forever can save you time. Several boat routes have been changed, creating more convenient connections between different parts of Azeroth.

For example, the route from Darkshore towards Wetlands now stops at Southshore. In Classic, reaching Hillsbrad from that part of the world required a half-an-hour journey through Wetlands and Arathi Highlands. In Forever, you can simply take the boat and cut out a considerable amount of travel time.

Useful Buffs and Small Tricks

A few other systems can give your XP gains a useful nudge. None of them will transform your levelling on their own, but together they can make a noticeable difference:

  • Cozy Sleeping Bag: Returning from Season of Discovery, Cozy Sleeping Bag becomes available through a quest chain from level 14. You can rest in it for three minutes to build up a 3% XP bonus, which lasts for an hour. The quest itself involves quite a bit of travelling, but once you have it, the sleeping bag is an easy bonus to pick up between quests. It’s also a handy excuse to grab a drink or snack while your character takes a little XP-buffing break.
  • Food buffs: Crafted food in Forever gives you a 5% XP bonus from killing creatures. It’s less valuable in dungeons because monster kills there now provide less XP, but keeping the buff active while you’re out in the open world is an easy way to get more from your regular questing.
  • Camp Tent: Leatherworkers can craft a Camp Tent and place it at a campsite through Forever’s new Camping system. The tent increases your stored Rested XP to 5% of a level and can be used once an hour. If you don’t have Leatherworking yourself, you can simply team up with someone who does and make use of their tent.
  • Well Rested: Forever’s new Legacy System includes a passive talent called Well Rested, which increases both how quickly you accumulate Rested XP and how much you can store. You can purchase it in the Adventure Legacy Tree with Legacy Points earned from various in-game challenges.
  • Hearthstone: Your Hearthstone lets you teleport back to the inn where it is bound, and you can change its location whenever you like. Set it near your current questing area to save time on long trips across Azeroth. Inns also provide Rested XP, which can add up nicely alongside the other XP boosts mentioned above.

A Few Final Thoughts

All of these recommendations are based on the current beta testing, so some numbers and systems may still change before the November 4 launch. Even so, Forever is shaping up to make the journey to level 60 more efficient without losing the slower, exploratory spirit that made Classic so memorable.

We hope the tips we’ve covered help you spend less time travelling and grinding and more time enjoying the adventure. And if you’re playing with friends or family, those extra hours are even more valuable—because sometimes the best part of WoW is simply having more time to share the game together.
