5. Reverse Osmosis Filters

In this filter, a semipermeable membrane with tiny pores is installed to capture pollutants on one side and purify water on the other by applying pressure. It can remove chemicals, viruses, bacteria, and protozoa. These are incorporated into carbon or sediment filters or other filtration systems to eliminate large contaminants. However, this filtration technique works best when there is enough water pressure. These are often combined in POU systems.

The pollutants usually gather on the outer surface of the ceramic candle, blocking the porous surface. As a result, water flow is affected.
