Autumnal Home Vibes – It’s Time To Get Cosy

Posted on October 29, 2023July 15, 2025 By Becky

With the golden leaves falling and a crisp breeze in the air, Autumn is upon us. It’s the season to embrace warmth, comfort, and cosiness in our homes. Let’s delve deep into creating the perfect autumnal home haven.

Dreamy Autumnal Scents

Autumn is the season of spices. From the delightful aroma of apple spice, pumpkin spice, and allspice to the playful mention of posh spice and ginger spice, Autumn embodies the warm and inviting essence of these fragrances. Cinnamon and nutmeg, with their rich and comforting notes, make every corner of your home feel like a cosy nook. Beyond the delicious treats that you might be baking, these spices can be infused into your home through candles, oil diffusers, potpourri, or incense.

The mere scent of these can evoke memories of festive times and family gatherings, setting the mood for the season. Now that I got my Nuhr I actually burn these scents throughout the year when ever I get especially nostalgic. Nothing like a good flashback session whatever the time of year.

Winter Warmer Hot Chocolate

Nothing spells Autumn better than a mug of rich, creamy hot chocolate. It’s the drink of the season. Whether you like it topped with whipped cream, marshmallows, or a sprinkle of cocoa, it’s the ultimate comfort beverage. So, stock up on your favourite hot chocolate mix, some quality cocoa, and perhaps even a flavoured syrup or two.

The Holidays Are Coming

Autumn heralds the beginning of the festive season. From the spookiness of Halloween – and the sparkle of Diwali – to the gratitude of Thanksgiving, this season is a whirlwind of celebrations. It’s time to retrieve those boxes of decorations and ensure your home reflects the festive spirit of every occasion.

Bring Out The Blankets And Rugs

As the temperature drops, it’s time to switch up your home decor and create a cosy Autumn home. Gone are the days of floral and geometric designs. Welcome the era of faux fur and classic checked patterns. Draping your sofas and beds with these plush blankets not only adds to the aesthetic but provides the perfect setup for a cosy movie night. And as the nights get colder, consider switching to a high-tog duvet adorned with rustic hues of browns, oranges, and deep reds.

If you have wooden or laminate flooring without underfloor heating, you know how cold it can get during Autumn and winter on your feet. Fluff up your lvt flooring with beautiful rugs – geometric patterns are trending in 2023, but some people would prefer the typical fluffy rug.

Cosy Clothing

Autumn fashion is all about comfort and style. It’s time to retrieve those woolly jumpers, jackets, and fluffy boots from the back of your wardrobe. And let’s not forget the soft pyjamas, ideal for those lazy days when all you want to do is curl up with a book or binge-watch a series.

Outdoors

While we focus on the indoors, let’s not neglect our outdoor spaces. Autumn is the time to prep your garden for the colder months ahead. Whether planting seasonal blooms or ensuring your patio furniture is weather-resistant, a little effort can ensure your garden remains a haven even in Autumn. Autumn is synonymous with harvest. The markets are brimming with seasonal produce like pumpkins, squashes, and parsnips. It’s a culinary enthusiast’s delight. Dive into recipes that celebrate these ingredients. And while you’re in the kitchen, it’s an excellent opportunity to declutter. Seasonal cleaning of your pantry ensures you’re stocked up on essentials while discarding expired items.

Autumn is a season of transformation. It’s a reminder that change can be beautiful. By incorporating these tips, you can ensure your Autumn home is a reflection of the warmth and beauty this season brings, making every moment truly special.
