Share the load

Sharing the load with your family when it comes to housework and tidying, can be a game-changer for many people. Quite often (but not always) the man takes over the housework, and everybody else leaves things to build up. But this means that if the man has an off day, has work to do, or is ill, then things build up significantly. So sharing the load between all the family members is particularly useful. Depending on the age of the children, there are many things you can do to get them involved. Including children in the housework from an early age, by giving them their own little tasks to do, can make a huge difference to their future willingness to help. Getting everybody on board may be difficult to start with, but incentives, pulling together as a team, and even turning it into a fun activity, Can ensure that everybody is going to have their own sense of responsibility. It’s good for everyone to pull together, that way resentment and bitterness can’t possibly grow from those doing more than their fair share. Sitting down as a family and talking this one through, and maybe even writing a list of who is responsible for what can be a wonderful idea.

Gardening

Taken care of your garden can really help your overall a statics when it comes to your home. When people visit your house the first thing they will see is your front garden, and it’s a great thing to be able to feel some pride in how well your garden is looking. Growing flowers isn’t exactly something that everybody enjoys, but you can always hire someone to take care of your tree pruning, you can buy some ham hanging baskets every year and still enjoy a wonderful time in your outdoor spaces. Garden can be very relaxing, and many people use it as a hobby for this reason. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but planning to get the lawnmower out once every two weeks, fertilizing the areas that need fertilizing regularly, and ensuring that everybody pulls their weight with the weeding, means that you can keep on top of things when needed.

Schedule time

Scheduling a time for certain activities, such as having a good tidy through once a week on a Sunday, hoovering every day or every other day, and wiping services every day, for example, can keep everything in check. When everybody knows exactly what needs to be done it can be much easier to keep on top of things. Those of you that used to have specific jobs for each person, can easily delegate activities without arguments happening. Some people have a rota, and some people use phone apps. There is absolutely no reason why you can’t set up a schedule, and treat it as a workload because that is exactly what it is at the end of the day. There are many tools that you can pick up to help with this, such as noticeboards, diaries, and for small children even reward charts and schedules that you can place on the wall, this helps everybody to keep track, and stay on top of things.

Marie Kondo

Decluttering your home can make a significant amount of difference when it comes to keeping on top of the housework. If you have less to clean around, then you are going to be spending less time hoovering, dusting, and tidying. Make sure that everybody ties up after themselves, and maybe give the Marie Kondo method a try. There is something to be said for decluttering and having a minimalist way of life, as it significantly reduces the amount of time wasted looking for things, or tidying things up. Of course, you want to keep all of the practical items that you wear or use every day, but sometimes those items that you haven’t used for six months or more being thrown away can produce a little more space and Time that could be very beneficial. Not only this but if items aren’t being used in your home, then it can be difficult to keep track of what you have, and what you need.

Lower Standards

If all else fails then lowering your standards a little bit (but not too far) can give you a little bit of time and space to be able to breathe. Getting stressed about making a bed every day, or being a little behind with the destine, really isn’t worth the wasted energy. Everybody has different standards, but as long as you’re home his hygiene, and your children well cared for that’s all that matters. So don’t beat yourself up if you aren’t able to keep up to the very high standards that you are holding yourself too. When the children grow up it is said that they won’t remember the mess But they will remember the time spent with her family, the laughter, and fun and games. So avoiding stress over this is a very good idea. And above all will prevent you from burnout and from working too hard.

Treat Yourself

Treating yourself is it to some tools that will make your life easier, such as a state of the art Hoover, or even just a spray Mop that you have seen advertised can make you feel a little bit better about doing the housework. Having the right tools is a necessity, but having some more luxury items to do your cleaning and tidying with, can ease the stress levels a bit. There are many people who have a great collection of cleaning equipment and really enjoy spending some time going through the house with the tools that make everything easier for them. Of course, these aren’t birthday or Mother’s Day gift material, but there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have some items to make this a more worthwhile chore. And if you can afford it then hiring a cleaner once or twice a week may be the answer for you. Many working families take this option so that they can get on with the rest of the activities that they need to during the week.

So taking care of ourselves first, ensuring that the house is as hygienic as possible, and making an effort where possible is all we can do. But to avoid burnout we must delegate, plan, and expect to let things go occasionally.
