Unpacking, Boob Relief and Gymnastics Joy- Little Loves

This week has been busy in a good way- after being laid low with tonsillitis for the best part of last week, it’s been great feeling better again and therefore motivated to actually do stuff! And with lots of work on and house bits to finish off, I really needed to be back to my old self.

Read

I’ve been pretty busy this week so haven’t read as much as I’d usually do. I picked up a copy of the latest Sainsburys mag (does this make me old?) and have been drooling over some lovely Easter recipes that I think we’ll try out over the holidays.

I also went in the children’s school yesterday afternoon to be this week’s ‘mystery reader’ for Sasha’s reception class. It’s ridiculous how nervous I felt in front of 30 4-5 year olds reading ‘Supermarket Zoo’!

Watched

Adam and I watched ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople’ the other night, a brilliantly irreverent New Zealand indie film with Sam Neil. It’s about a young boy who ends up in foster care with Neil and his wife, and runs away (with Neil following) into the bush. It’s all about their developing relationship as ‘father’ and son after a rocky start, and is both hilariously funny and sad at times. I fell asleep during some of it (I blame pregnancy!) but it was fantastic and definitely worth a watch.

Adam and I also went to watch Sasha perform in her end of term gymnastics display before school this week (man, that is an early start!), and she did brilliantly, coming away with 2 medals and a huge smile on her little face.

Heard

Far too much horrible stuff on the news this week, but also some positive stories about courage and bravery in the face of terrorism that give me hope in this crazy world.

On lighter notes, I’ve also been listening to lots of David Bowie and The Postal Service which both make me rather happy, and also listening to Freddie practice a little poem that he had to say in front of his class in order to gain his ‘silver’ reading passport this term. He did so well, and didn’t appear nervous or fazed at all!

Made

This week, with the help of my mum, I made a real effort to get the rest of our kitchen/diner sorted, which meant putting together some new storage furniture, un-boxing the whopping amount of craft stuff we have to go in it, and putting up a few prints and our lovely Stendig Calendar that has been waiting to find a home since the end of last year.

I also made a start on writing out the idea for a children’s picture book that I have that I’ve been sitting on since last summer. I figure I’ve got to have a go, finish it and submit it, otherwise I’ll always been wondering ‘what if?’ and I want to get it sent off before baby arrives.

Wore

This week I’ve been a little boring on the clothes front, although on Wednesday morning I went and had a proper bra fitting to accommodate my increasingly big boobs, and the relief to get something that actually fits was incredible. Although I’m not showing you a picture of that, haha! I also have nice new ‘spring’ nails now- I changed from my usual darker hue to a dusky pink colour and I love them.

And lastly…

Adam and I are off out tonight for drinks and tapas with some friends which I am ridiculously excited about as we haven’t been ‘out out’ together with friends for a while now (I have no idea why, we need to do it more). The kids are having a sleepover at Nanny and Grandad’s which their over the moon about, but apart from that we’ve got a fairly quiet weekend.

Enjoy it whatever you’re up to!

I really love that nail colour, seems to be very ‘in’ for Spring this year. Did you do it yourself? Hope you enjoyed a fab night out yesterday. I was out out too but at least I could sample a mojito or too! Not quite the same when you’re pregnant is it? Glad to hear you got your boobs sorted though lol! xx
