Preparing for Christmas: Great Little Trading Co Stockings & Stocking Filler Ideas for Kids

Yes, yes, I KNOW it’s early, but let’s face it: December is only a couple of weeks away, and before we know it we’ll be in full, festive swing and either feeling smug that we’re prepared, or panic-buying and cursing the fact we didn’t start shopping sooner. Time to get organised!

Me, well right now, I appear to be straddling both camps. I have totally finished shopping for Freddie and Sasha’s stockings, bar the obligatory chocolate coins and a roll of sellotape for the latter (don’t ask), but am struggling a bit with what to put in Arlo’s. Being the 3rd and most likely our last baby, we don’t want to spend a fortune on loads of toys that he’ll quickly outgrow, yet I don’t want him to miss out. I shouldn’t really care too much though as he doesn’t know where his own nose is yet, let alone give a crap about Christmas, so I think we’ll probably fill his stocking with some small toys, bibs, and mostly clothes that he’ll grow into and that we would’ve bought anyway.

Moving onto stockings, I am VERY excited by the children’s this year, and fulfilling a weird Crimbo dream of mine to have 3 matching-yet-not-matching children’s stockings hanging up come Christmas Eve *sniff*

As part of our role on the Great Little Trading Co Testing Team, the gang there have been amazing and kindly sent all 3 children their own personalised Christmas stockings, and my word, they are WONDERFUL!

Freddie has a personalised ‘Jolly Reindeer’ design, Sasha the ‘Christmas Eve’ and Arlo the ‘Father Christmas’. I love the quality of them, so we know that they’ll last years and years, and I must admit that I was surprised at just how big they are. This leaves all the more room for including some bigger (but not necessarily expensive) bits, and you know that if you can fit your baby in their stocking, then you’re definitely onto a good thing size-wise.

Now that I’ve finished my stocking filler shopping, I filmed a little vlog the other day showing what we’ve bought Sasha, and then Freddie, in two separate videos (below). I love searching the web or watching YouTube videos for present ideas, so I hope people might find them useful!
