Having felt like I’ve been stuck in a fashion rut the past 18 months or so (pregnancy and post-baby will often do that to a gal), I’ve suddenly has massive motivation to shake things up fashion and beauty-wise lately. As well as getting my hair done, possibly differently, next week (literally counting down the days), I’ve been starting to compile a little list of potential fashion buys, plus pinning and saving looks I’m now keen on from IG and fashion blogs like a demon. I’ve been loving looking at new jewellery too, including pieces from Carus Jewellery that I can wear everyday or for nights out.
One of the looks I’ve been quite drawn to is floral and skater-type dresses pared down (think, trainers, casual little jackets and hats), and I like that this is a look that is very much ‘day’ and suited to running around after kids, yet makes a change from my usual jeans. It’s a great spring look, and on a chilly day you can even add a pair of opaques to bare legs.
Here are some examples of the sort of thing I mean:
…and this is how I’ve styled my dresses from Want That Trend for the spring (deets linked below):
The first two dresses in particular can also be glammed up for a night out with heels/ankle boots so they’re very versatile. Having washed and worn all 3 dresses for a month now (don’t tell me I don’t review shizzle properly, people), I can tell you they do the former very well and are great quality. In fact, the first two dresses are actually on the thicker-side material-wise for perfect for spring/autumn/UK summer transition dressing but may be a little hot for a scorchio summer.
The stripey number is more lightweight and therefore suits all weathers as can be layered if necessary (as I have done by adding this chunky cardigan on top). The sizing for the floral dresses is pretty much true to size, and I would size down for the striped number as it comes up a little big.

Now we just need some slightly warmer weather, which apparently might be in the offing next week!
