One of the things I have enjoyed very much in our current home, is having a home office, or creative space, where I’ve loved being able to work from home in an attractive environment, as well as having somewhere to store all my craft, DIY, party planning and photography bits.
Our new house currently doesn’t have an extra room for a home office, or at least it doesn’t until we can afford to do a loft conversion in a few years time, so in the meantime we’ve been thinking about the possibility of an outdoor room for this purpose (our new garden is a decent size so very doable). But what if the room wasn’t for me, what if Adam finally got a chance to have a space of his own?!
That husband of mine actually has an awful lot of ‘stuff’ for a guy (might sound sexist but it’s true!)- football training kit, football manager planning whiteboards, golf clubs, cricket kit, numerous gaming consoles, a dart board (which as much as I love darts, I refuse to have put up on the wall in our home), his framed football shirts from when he played for England, a HIDEOUS Crystal Palace mirror that could easily be found in any spit-n-sawdust pub in South East London….the list goes on!
We actually viewed a few houses that had ‘adult caves’ in the bottom of the garden, and also know a few people with them too, so I really do think it could be the way forward for us, or for at least one of us to get a fantastically cool grown-up space.
