Burning calories is something which a lot of people like to try to do. It is true that you are more likely to lose weight if you burn more calories than you consume, but is it that easy? Here, we give you four ways that you can burn some calories without having to spend hours at the gym. Keep reading if you’d like to find out more.
Take the Stairs
If you work in a building where you need to go up a few floors every day, make sure to take the stairs. Although you might be used to taking the elevator, you’ll soon realise how much time you save waiting on it arriving and you’ll feel better with this new exercise that you are undertaking. Walking up the stairs is a simple task and once you get into it, you won’t even realise that you are burning any calories – perfect!
Park Further Away
This one sounds a little silly but if you start parking your car further away, you’ll have to walk a little further each day to get to and from it. This is a simple change which can actually make a lot of difference to the number of calories that you burn each day. The added benefit is that you won’t have to wrestle with the other cars for those nearby spaces, you can head to the back of the carpark where there is plenty of room!
Buy Some Equipment
If you are trying to burn some calories in a short space of time, you might find that you can’t really make it to the gym. The good news is that there are plenty of machines and weights that you can buy for your home to use when you have a little spare time. You could also try using a Bowflex Max Trainer which will let you burn a lot of calories in just 14 minutes. Go for A Walk
If you’re used to spending time on your lunch break just sitting at your desk, why not try to go for a walk? You actually might be surprised at how much you enjoy getting out and feeling the fresh air. If it is a nice day, even better, as you’ll be able to enjoy it even if it is only for a half hour. You could even get a colleague to come with you to get a coffee and you’ll be able to feel like your walk has a purpose. If you start to enjoy your walk you could even start walking to work if you live close enough or getting off your bus a few stops earlier in the mornings!
