I adore clothes and fashion and like to look good, but these days funds are a little more limited to still be as frivolous with my purchases, and I am the WORST for moaning to Adam “I’ve got nothing to weeeeeear…”. As much as I hate to admit it, I occasionally fall victim of to one of the pitfalls of being a being at home with two tiny children and with no official office to go to: I can’t be always be arsed to ‘put’ an outfit ‘together’. So, I want to snap out of my rut and make the most of what I have. I ALWAYS feel better and have a spring in my step for the day if I know (in my mind) that I look good! So for 30 days, I am going to put together a different outfit every day from my current wardrobe (yikes!), and photograph it. I tried this on my old blog (that died a death, thank god!) for spring/summer dressing, and it worked with varying degrees of success.
The rules are as follows:
1. Wear a different outfit from your current wardrobe, every day, for 30 days.
2. If you buy any new clothes within your 30 days, you are not allowed to wear them for the purpose of this challenge
4. You can wear an item of clothing again within the 30 days i.e. same pair of jeans but with a different top, same top but worn with a skirt instead of trousers, you get the idea…
The point of this?
To remind ourselves that most of us probably DO have a wardrobe full of clothes that we forget about/don’t wear/are bored of, and to make the most of them, and to try and buck the trend for disposable fashion, or at least, buying too much of it.
It will save you money.
It’s better ethically and for the environment.
It means that you may well have some money left over to buy a key few pieces each season- crucial if you are really into your fashion!
I will post weekly showing my outfits for the previous week.
If you want to join in with me, even if it’s not every day, then feel free post your pics on your blog, twitter, FB or Pintrest account, using the hashtag #30daywardrobechallenge and tell me what you’re wearing, and where it’s from.
Looking forward to seeing a few outfits!
So, onto Day 1:
The photos above show a fairly standard day-to-day look of mine- skinnies, trainers and top, jazzed-up slightly with an interesting coat and/or jewelry. Whilst there is nada wrong with this look, it would be good to really get inside my wardrobe again and see if I can mix it up a bit…
Coat – New Look
Tshirt – Primark
Necklace – a present
Skinny Jeans – Topshop
Trainers – Superga
Bag – Marc by Marc Jacobs
Slightly awkward, cheesy grin – Mine, and mine alone
I love this idea Becky, and you look gorgeous! 🙂 I could definitely do with doing this – I’m a terrible one for thinking I have nothing to wear, when in fact I have a wardrobe bursting at the seams! I’ll def be taking part, and will join in on Twitter/IG as much as poss xxx

Thank you! Do get involved if you fancy it! x
I love this!! I definitely say I have nothing to wear far too much!! I am going to start this as of the 1st of Oct as a fresh month! I just hope I actually have enough clothes!! 🙂

That’s what I’m worried about Katy, that I might not actually have enough clothes to pull it off, or I’ll end up looking like a weirdo with the different outfit combos! Looking forward to seeing your efforts- let me know when you start! 🙂
I love this idea! I can completely relate to what you’re saying as I’m also (a new) SAHM. When I used to go to work, I did get dressed up but now I don’t make the same effort and feel like I’m in a bit of a rut too.
Is there a rule number 3?
Great idea xxx

Whoops, number 4 should be number 3! *runs off and edits* I hate the rut too- I’m already discovering that I seem to have one uniform in just slightly different variations! x
Oh B!! Lets be fair….you could easily pull of the bin bag look, so I’m sure you’re gonna look totes stunning regardless!! Um….i’d love to join you, but it’ll be really difficult with us heading over to Miami-I’ve been waiting to hit the shops there for the whole year. I’ll make sure i tag you no IG for any outfits which fall within the rules though! PS: I think this is a bloody great idea 🙂 Mwah xx

*Blushes* thanks lovely! I totally forgot you were off to the states soon (nope, I’m not jealous, not one little bit…!)- want to see some of your purchases in the flesh and on Instagram on your return! Mwah xx
What a great idea! I read a stat once that said women wear only a tiny percentage of what’s in their wardrobe on a regular basis. I know I’m guilty for reaching for the old favourites, perhaps it’s time to mix it up a bit. Your outfit looks fab. I’ll think about doing this challenge! Xx #streetstylesunday

Thanks Leigh! That stat is so true- I think we’re all guilty of it, no matter how many clothes we have to wear! x
What a fab idea, I’m always saying I have nothing to wear, despite having two double wardrobes bursting with clothes. I’m going to be joining in as much as I can to hopefully find a few lost faves from the back of the wardrobe! xx
Wow what an amazing challenge!!! Love this idea and you look super stylish! I love Superga shoes and the grey shade is so chic
Hope you can join in with Street Style Sunday again this weekend
