3 Organisational Experts you need to follow

If there’s one thing I’ve become quite obsessed with of late, it’s finding more and better ways to be organised and productive, something I find has become increasingly important to me the more kids I’ve had, and the more work I’ve have on. I don’t ever want to be chasing my tail, or getting stressed or flustered over big and little things, or the fact my home is a hole, so I’m often seeking out great blogs/books/YouTube videos that can help me avoid this.

I like to think I’m a pretty organised person anyway, but there’s always room for improvement, right?!

Here are 3 brilliant organisational experts that you’ll either want to high five, or be horrified by, depending on which end of the organisational spectrum you sit:

Laura Vanderkam

I first came across Laura when I was browsing reads on Amazon, and decided to buy her book “I know how she does it” (all about how high flying women juggle top careers with family/social life/hobbies successfully), and I was sold immediately on her writing style, and by the fact I’m fascinated with how other busy people manage their time. Laura has her own website which she updates regularly with blogs about her own family life and time management, plus she shares her posts, and those of others who write about organisational topics on her Twitter feed. I already have two more of her books ‘168 hours: You Have More Time Than You Think” and “What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast” in the pipeline to read. In fact, the title of the latter is what I always think about if I start to make an excuse in my head as to why I can’t fit something in- I have LOADS of time available if I want!

Alejandra Costello

Professional organiser Alejandra is a recent discovery of mine, and someone who you’ll probably either be massively envious of home-organisation-wise, or she’ll make you recoil in horror and run screaming for the hills. I have a feeling she’s probably an acquired taste! Having said that you really can’t knock her ideas and methods for keeping an organised home, and watching her videos has made me want to take a week off to totally sort out my house (which I thought was in pretty good order anyway!). I’ve taken a few of her ideas and implemented them already, and whilst her tampon and sanitary towel organising is verging on INSANE, I can overlook that as some of her others are genius. Take a look around the most organised home EVER:

Jen Jones

Jen runs the brilliant US blog I Heart Organizing where there are some fantastic blog posts on organizing your life and home, plus some useful free printables too. This is one of my favourite blog posts of her’s, entitled “Where do I begin?” and she has a YouTube channel too:

I love finding new people like this to follow (I know, I know, I’m a geek when it comes to this sort of thing)- do you have any organisational recommendations?
