Laura Ashley AW16 Homeware Collection

043

Last week I was invited to go and see the new Laura Ashley AW16 Homeware collection at their HQ in Fulham- something I’m SO glad I did. Not only was it the chance to see one of my favourite, long-established brand’s new pieces, but also an opportunity to catch up with some of my favourite blogging ladies (Alison, Elfa, Bonnie, and briefly Helen, I’m looking at you!). After feeling in a bit of a blogging fug these past couple of months (are you bored of me saying this yet? No?!), meeting up with some blogger pals and having a natter, all whilst feeling inspired by the collection, made me feel loads better.

So what can be expected from this AW collection home-wise? Let’s just say I hope you’re feeling fruity! 😉

Here are the pieces that caught my eye last week…

^^^Pineapples, pineapples everywhere! Okay, so when I mentioned ‘feeling fruity’ I was talking about the spiky things- which are a HUGE trend for Laura Ashley in this collection. I’m rather pleased about this, as I actually bought a gold leaf pineapple print from an Etsy store several months ago to go in my study, but since we decided to move I haven’t bothered putting it up, and now I’m thinking of purchasing a few LA pieces to go with it (although one does have to be careful not to have pineapple overload!).

I think with this trend, choosing a few select pineapple-themed items works best, or just one big statement piece. I’m particularly loving the pineapple wallpaper (thinking new house downstairs loo, a bold statement here) and the large pineapple lamp for the living room. (see below)

If the above don’t ap-peel as much (arf arf!), then what about these other pineapple pieces?

^^^Pineapple pot, or small pineapple bowl?

I am still on the fence regarding the above Pineapple mirror. Part of me thinks “woohoo, how fun, I NEED!”, where as the other is wanting to run screaming from Del Boy’s Nelson Mandela Towers circa 1986. What do you think? Maybe I’ll just turn my new downstairs toilet into one big pineapple emporium, then I don’t have to choose or feel guilty about my ever-increasing pineapple habit.

Anyhoo, enough about pineapples- the Laura Ashley AW16 homeware collection is much more than that, with some truly beautiful themes, prints and textures happening. I adore the hanging lights, especially the ones that give your home a more industrial edge – definitely on the wish list for the new gaff.

These little art deco-inspired mini mirrors are just gorgeous and are on my wishlist for the new house too (I’m definitely now seeing the positives of moving again, after having a major wobble). We currently have a big, original version of these mirrors in our current loo, and I really like the idea of having these three little ones in the hallway of the new home.

If you’re looking for some gorgeous, textured prints, look no further than this beautiful red/pink/white feather cushion, and the wallpaper too. The deep colours are really rich, and would make a bold-yet-classy addition to a room.

I have my little beady eye on one of these glass things (terrarium? I think so, my brain escapes me right now), so I can put succulents in or candles in the winter (as the photo below suggests). The terrarium will hopefully protect my little green beauties, as I seem to be kryptonite to house plants. <sad face>

The printed jug and bowl below aren’t actually to my personal taste homeware-wise, but I had to feature them because I think the colours and floral design are just beautiful, and might make a fantastic statement in the right kitchen, or even on display in a dining room or living room. It shows that you can still appreciate gorgeous pieces without them being 100% right for you, and often they can make you think of your home design in a different way i.e. always make me wonder if they COULD belong somewhere!

I absolutely LOVE this velvet chair, and if we were staying in our current home with it’s giant loft room I would be all over this bad boy and finding a space for it! Just fabulous, and I adore the colour- classic, rich, and bold.

Those who know me well know that I’m a bit of a kitchenware addict, and have banned myself from buying/being sent anymore until we move into our new place with a bigger kitchen! But… I think I’m going to have to give house room to these babies- a wonderful egg holder (I never really knew that you weren’t actually supposed to store your eggs in the fridge), and this beautiful ceramic measuring jug that will make cooking/baking feel very luxurious.

039 038

And finally…this stunning, vintage-inspired metal rack. I REALLY want this in our new living room to hold magazines and some books, but I do worry it might become the dumping ground for all of our paperwork and kids crap. I will need to be disciplined in order to keep it looking lovely! A useful yet beautiful piece.

So these are my picks of the Laura Ashley Autumn/Winter 16 homeware collection- which of my choices do you like best (if any)? I’d love to hear!
