Simple Autumn Leaf Colouring for preschoolers

Simple Autumn Leaf Craft

It’s lovely that Sasha is now of an age where she is just starting to enjoy using crayons, and this is an autumnal activity that she can now join in with.

This simple autumn leaf colouring  encourages fine motor skills, as well as promotes discussion with older toddlers (like Freddie), about what colours Autumn leaves are and why, and encourages colouring within the lines (although I’m sure this will come much later!)

I drew the outline of leaves with a pencil, and left out a selection of autumnal colour crayons for Freddie and Sasha to choose from.

Once both children had finished colouring their leaves, I cut them out with scissors, and using bluetack, stuck them to the shelves in our kitchen for some cheery autumn decor that also hides the chipped paint on the shelves.

Just did this with Ella (2 yrs) and she loved it. I normally just let her run wild with crayons but this gave it a bit more structure and we talked about all the autumn colours. Also massive bonus no paint or glue required so no mess to clean up after! Keep the autumn crafts coming!
